Luggage
After a trip to Glasgow to try out rucksacks and travel packs I finally setlled on the Berghaus Jalan 60+15. Its a travel pack which means it is front loading rather than top loading thus making it easier to access the contents. The main compartment is 60L and the attached day pack is 15L. I didn’t want anything bigger as I knew that regardless of the size, I would still manage to fill it! The pack is fitted with an adjustable harness which is just as comfortable as some of the more expensive rucksacks that I tried out and can be concealed when checking it in which should protect it from baggage handlers and outsized luggage! I was considering getting a better day pack, one that had a more breathable back, but I think for the majority of the trip the detachable one that the Jalan comes with will do. I might consider buying a better one for trekking with when the time comes.

Hey Dan, It seem a good choice but does it have a waterproof cover? This is very important if you don´t want to find all your stuff soak after a rainy day. Some of the rucksacks don´t have this cover but it´s possible to buy separately.
It does indeed. A rain cover came with it.
